EDUCATION

An integral part of our vision is a strategic partnership with Station House Media Unit (shmu) who will lead on, and deliver, an exciting education and filmmaking programme to help nurture and develop the next generation of filmmakers.

03.

COMMUNITY

This will be a venue for Aberdeen, operated from Aberdeen, and with the interests and cultural nuances of our city always at top of mind. It will be a focal point for culture and community collaboration in the North East of Scotland.

04.

CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

From the refurbishment work, to the local suppliers we will bring on board for food & drink — The Belmont Cinema will be geared towards delivering an excellent, comfortable and unique customer experience, one that exceeds expectations.

HOW DID IT START?

In October 2022, the ‘Save the Belmont Cinema’ campaign was formed in response to the sudden closure of the Belmont Cinema in Aberdeen city centre.

Since then, what started as a 'campaign steering group' has been working steadily to develop a plan of action for the refurbishment and successful re-opening of this iconic city venue — establishing the charity Belmont Community Cinema Ltd in 2023.

FOR EVERYONE

Since the 'Save the Belmont Cinema' group was originally established in late 2022, our campaign and the wider community surrounding it have grown and evolved.

The groundswell of support built up from these initial meetings and local coverage has spread far and wide, and our community includes local businesses, organisations and groups who have a stake in Aberdeen's cultural and commercial future.
